FISHING REPORT:
Texas Cotton Ginners were in Port Mansfield April 23-26 2009 for their annual fishing tournament that was held on Friday & Saturday. With approximately 68 people in attendance enjoying shrimp boils, fish fries, blackened/half shell redfish and adult PM beverages. The Cotton Ginners wish to thank Harbor Bait & Tackle; Diana, Karri & Sybil Simmons for hosting the weigh-in & coordinating arrangements.
REPORTS----
Fishing on Friday 4-24-2009
Was a little bit tough weather wise winds nearly blew is of the water all day gusting to 40+ mph. We left the Harbor Bait and Tackle docks at 6:30 am with a large south wind blowing; headed north looking for favorable fishy water ending up at the north end. Returned to the dock at 3:00 pm with a respectful box of fish…none that were show-offs, fishing was tough today-------------
6 Redfish ==22-24 inches
7 Trout ==16-20 inches
Several Black Drum ==18-21 inches
South wind 20-40 mph 84 degrees.
All fish caught on Harbor Bait live shrimp and popping corks drifting 2-3 feet of water.

Fishing on Saturday 4-25-2009
Left the docks at 6:30 am the wind was more bearable than the previous day; headed north as the previous day looking for fishy water did not have to go near as far north to find pretty water today fished between the ICC and the west shoreline. Returned to the dock at 3:00 pm with a large box of fish & prevailed in the following divisions:
1st place trout division ==25.75 inches….jt= angler.
1st place redfish division==27.25 inches….ce= angler.
1st place largest stringer==3 limits of redfish and 3 limits of trout......ce,jm,jt=anglers.
Southeast wind 20-30 mph 85 degrees.
All fish caught on Harbor Bait live shrimp and popping corks drifting 3-5 feet of water.
